Q&A: Fineline Hires Finelink 2.0 Applications Developer

Q&A with Jaykumar:

Q: Describe your new role at Fineline.

A: As an Application Developer at Fineline, I am a part of the IT Team and will have responsibility for application design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of our custom software solution Finelink 2.0. I will also serve as the technical developer for new storefronts and integrations.

Q: What are some areas of expertise and skill sets that allow you to do your job well?

A: With a Masters in Information Science and Technology, I specialize in developing Web and Mobile applications and have a strong background of Object-oriented Programming, Data Structures, Problem Solving combined with PHP, Java, Android development and frameworks like CodeIgniter, Angular.js and Ionic Framework.

Q: Describe some of your past roles and accomplishments that will help you succeed in your new role.

A: As a Web Developer at Saunders College of Business at Rochester Institute of Technology, I automated access of data by developing RESTful APIs, which allowed me to troubleshoot and maintain the website. Additionally, I resolved and revamped the previous system with a new web application which improved performance, organization, and interactive UI.

In my role as Web Engineer at Interactive Games and Media at RIT, I developed a web based operation management system to automate the scheduling of classes, events, and operations for each classroom in the College.

I have experience in both front-end and back-end development. As a front-end developer at Passionate Creators, I designed wireframes for websites, converted PSDs to live websites, developed responsive, interactive user interfaces and through testing, resolved issues on various devices. I have also been a freelance web developer where I used my expertise in both front-end and back-end development to create total website solutions for clients.

Q: Three biggest areas your position will impact.

Development of Finelink 2.0, Technical development for new storefronts and Custom Integrations.

Q: Any comments on your new role?

I am excited to be a part of an innovative and promising product’s development. Finelink 2.0 is an online print-fulfillment and marketing platform created to drive the entire print marketing process from design, to collaboration, to shipping and fulfillment all in one place, Fineline is making printing look easy by providing a hassle-free printing experience to all its customers.
